Camelot Sportfishing

Camelot Sportfishing

The Kona coast offers the best deep sea, big game sportfishing in the world.  It is host to big game species such as the pacific blue marlin, ono (wahoo), mahi mahi (dorado, dolphin), spearfish, ahi (yellow fin tuna), striped marlin and many others. The Camelot has caught more big game trophy fish than any other captain and crew in the Kailua Kona based Honokohau Harbor.  The professional crew onboard Camelot is well known for their ability to attract BIG fish and are very successful in doing so. The crew will provide you with all the fishing gear you will need to have a great time.

Captains Robert and Cyndee Hudson are well known for their fishing prowess.  They are winners of countless sport fishing tournaments.  In 2003, their charter fishing boat was the first one in Kona to bring in a real grander - a billfish weighing 1,041 pounds.  They can help you return from your vacation with more than fish stories. Don't just talk about the one that got away -- take your trophy home with you.

The 8-Hour "Exclusive Charter" is the best way to maximize your angling potential and go hunt out the big ones. On the 8 hour exclusive charter, you may elect to spend half the day snorkeling at Captain Cook Kealakekua Bay, renowned as "the best snorkeling in the state."

During whale season (December - April) there is a very good chance of sighting whales, and on exclusive charters, it may be possible to do some whale watching on your trip.

Families with kids of any age are welcome!

For those of you who have never fished before, or who want to save money on their fishing trip, we offer "share boats." That means that instead of getting the boat to yourself, you share the boat with up to 5 other people for four hours. At the end of the excursion, we'll fillet and share out the fish we've caught with everyone, so you won't leave empty-handed! This is a great way to save money and make new friends.

Driving Directions to the Honokohau Boat Harbor and the "Camelot":

From the Kona International Airport, take the "Queen K" highway south for 4 miles. Turn right (west) on the Kealakehe Pkwy (look for the sign for the "Honokohau Small Boat Harbor"). Proceed west toward the ocean staying to the left until you reach the docks. There are two "T" shaped docks in the center of the harbor. The "T" shaped dock farthest from the ocean is where the"Camelot" is birthed. Please look for boat slot I-45.

dissappointed in trip...didn't get what we thought we bought. we were looking forward to a husband/wife team but got son instead. We were not informed of this when we purchased day boat. Make sure you ask what team you are getting before you go out. Crew : 7 of 10
friendly, but not the crew we anticipated... make sure you ask for husband/wife team, not son

it would have been if we had got the crew we thought we paid for...

Great trip. None of the other boats were catching fishing, the bite just was not on that day, but Captain Robert and His son Mark still put my wife and I on some fish. We even had an Ono bite our bait clean in half and shred the 400 pound test leader just as the line hit the water. The guys were laid back and enjoyable but knew their stuff. I would recommend this charter to anyone looking to catch some fish on the Big Island. My wife and I will certainly be back. Crew : 9 of 10
