All our kayaks are equipped with full rudder controls to enhance your paddling fun and comfort level on the ocean.

Guests will meet or be shuttled to our launching site. After an orientation and outfitted with snorkeling gear we'll load the kayaks and paddle. Once on the water the group will paddle about 1 mile (30 minutes) to the first snorkeling site. An orientation on how to use snorkeling gear will be given for those needing it. This is especially important for first time snorkelers so that they will be comfortable in the water (buoyant snorkel vests available). Otherwise experienced snorkelers can start on their own. Your guide will then snorkel in the water with you to point out reef life.

Expect to see a live coral reef with an abundant assortment of colorful reef fish. Water depth will average about 20 feet. Water temperature @ 75 degrees (Nov-March) and @80 degrees (April-October). Visibility will be clear. Spend about 30-40 minutes at this site exploring the area.

Once out of the water, a snack with fresh fruit and Hawaiian style juices (guava, passion, etc.) will be served. Casual open discussion on coral reef ecology and questions answered on what was seen. After the snack the group will kayak about 1/2 or 3/4 mile to a second snorkel site (we have 5 different sites to choose from). Same routine as first. After our fill of fun, we'll paddle straight back to the boat ramp. Total time once arriving at boat ramp (8:30 am) & return is 3 1/2 - 4 hours. All tours are weather permitting.

Na Pali Coast Sea Kayak Tour Outfitters Kauai is exciting. About the trip: this is a 16 mile tour by kayak of one of the most beautiful and remote of the world's shorelines.We meet early, in Poipu, and ride together in our 15-pax van to the launch site in Haena. After about an hour's paddle we'll come upon the famed sea caves of Na Pali, entering if sea conditions permit. We'll raft up our kayaks for juice and snacks at mid-morning. We paddle a total of 11 miles in the morning to our first landing, which is at Milolii, the site of an ancient Hawaiian fishing community, where we'll have lunch. Typically we arrive at Milolii between 1 and 2 pm, so the morning is long! After lunch we have a 4- mile paddle in typically calm water to Polihale, where our van will be waiting for us. When we return to our Poipu store, we will have circumnavigated the entire island!

A Friendly Reality Check: this is a very long, somewhat strenuous paddle in typically heavy seas. Don't sign up unless you are up for a good workout and maybe a challenge. While this tour is best enjoyed by people who are physically fit and have some basic paddling experience, you may join us as a first time kayaker if you consider yourself to be athletically inclined and quick to learn new sports. Of course, this trip is not for non-swimmers.

Warning: If you are prone to severe seasickness this trip is not for you. If you feel that you may get nauseous, but not severely so, we recommend motion sickness medicine such as Bonine, Dramamine, or Triptone (over the counter). Lunch and refreshments are provided by us and include spring water, juice, snack bars, deli sandwiches and sodas. Vegetarian available on request. There's lot's of room in the kayak, so feel free to bring along additional drinks and snacks- no alcoholic beverages, please.
