The Surf Bus - North Shore Activity Tour
Your day begins with a sightseeing tour of the coastline. Next, the Surf Bus will drop you off for just over two hours to hike, surf, bike, swim, snorkel, kayak, or just lie on the beach at the ideal location. Leave the map and worries behind, choose one stop and one activity and let The Surf Bus set you up to do the coolest stuff at the best spot for it. Once you have worked up an appetite, we will pick you up and head to Historic Haleiwa Town for a one hour lunch stop with time to explore its quaint art galleries, shave-ice stands and hip shops.
Stop #1 The Cove choose one: snorkel or kayak or bike ride
SNORKEL: The Cove is a natural pool, safe for bathers and small children. Snorkel outside the pool and you will encounter sealife, lavatubes and caves rated in the world's best 12 shore dives. KAYAK: Explore the Three Tables rock formations and beaches( 40 minute paddle time ) or venture as far as Waimea Bay and join the friendly beach scene ( 1 hour and 20min paddle time ). BIKE: Peddle along a stretch of white sand beaches. Stop off at the famous Pipeline and Sunset Beach to watch the worlds best surfers pit themselves at the worlds deadliest surfing location. ( 1 hour ride time ) All Ages
Stop #2 The Ridgeline bike/hike
MOUNTAIN BIKE AND HIKE: Intermediate level mountain biking and hiking trails with scenic views and cool mountain breezes. (1.5 hour ride and hike time). Adults and Children 10 & Over
Stop #3 Waimea Valley and Falls nature hike, swim
NATURE HIKE: Stroll a well-paved, sunlit path through an extensive collection of Polynesian plants to arrive at the Falls and cool off in the pool below. See endangered bird and plant species as well as educational signs documenting their importance to Hawaiian culture. (1.5 hour walk)
Stop #4 Waimea Bay Beach choose one: snorkel or boogieboard or swim /jump rock
SWIM: North Shore's most popular beach scene for locals and tourists alike has crystal clear water and sandy bottom. SNORKEL: View schools of fish and turtles cruising around. Spot spinner dolphins putting a show just offshore. JUMP ROCK: An easy to climb rock in front of the life guard tower has different platforms at all heights. It is a fun playground for everybody.
Stop #5 Haleiwa Beach Park choose one: kayak or surfboard or surf lesson
KAYAK: Paddle around the point to the secluded beach where Lost episodes are filmed. Navigate the Anahulu River. Go under the famous Rainbow bridge and up to the Taro Plantation. SURF LESSON: Take surfing lessons with the best licensed instructors at the worlds surfing capital! ( 2 hour lesson ) All Ages
