Wild Dolphin Encounters on the Oahu Waianae Coast

Your journey with Dolphin Excursions Snorkel Adventures begins as we depart from the Waianae Boat Harbor and travel along the beautiful, scenic west coast of Oahu in search of spinner dolphins, though occasionally we see bottlenose and spotted dolphins, too. Few people have witnessed the fantastic arial stunts that these wild Hawaiian dolphins perform, giving you some of the most incredible photo opportunities anywhere! In the winter, the majestic Humpback whales share the waters with the dolphins, and in our Dolphin Excursions' fast boat, getting you to the whales is no problem. You'll be albe to see their breaches, fins, and tail slaps. Sometimes we're even lucky enough to see a calf with its mother. Truly amazing since even the infants dwarf us!

The real fun is what Dolphin Excursions calls "The Drop," something we do when then dolphins are playful and awake allowing guests to safely get wet and get face to face with the dolphins to experience dolphin play from a truly unique and natural prospective. Imagine being in the water with only a mask and snorkel and all the sudden you are surrounded by a group of chatty, playful dolphins as curious about you as you are about them. There is no park anywhere that you can experience something like this! And to top it off, "The Drop" is successful 80% of time!

Finally, we will have the opportunity to snorkel with tropical fish and sea turtles in Hawaii's pristine reefs, swarming with colorful fish and giant turtles. During the winter, snorkeling is dependent on weather and conditions. But if we can't snorkel, we'll spend longer viewing the whales.
