As the sun sets over the Pacific Ocean, the sound of the conch shell, the beating of the drums and the Hawaiian chant signal the start of one the finest Maui luaus on the beautiful lawns of the Makena Beach and Golf Resort, “Makena Luau”. Enjoy an unforgettable celebration of song and dance of Hawaii, Samoa, Tahiti, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga including magical hula culminating with multiple awe inspiring fire knife dancers. Guests will be greeted with a Mai Tai tropical drink and a shell lei. Authentic Polynesian demonstrations and Hawaii activities will teach guests about the customs and traditions of Polynesia.

Up-country mixed green salad, Island-style macaroni salad, Rotelli pasta salad with sun dried tomato vinaigrette, Cucumber and Maui onion salad, Green pea and roasted mixed-nut salad, Maui Gold pineapple with toasted coconut flakes, Lomi-lomi salmon, Poi, Freshly baked rolls with sweet butter, Steamed sweet potatoes with coconut butter glaze, Hawaiian-style fried rice, Steamed island mahi-mahi on bed of stir-fry vegetables, Pulehu beef steak with paniolo BBQ sauce, Teriyaki chicken with pineapple salsa, crispy Maui onions, Kalua pig & cabbage with Maui onions, Double-fudge chocolate brownies, Haupia Coconut sponge cake, Banana sponge cake, Maui Gold pineapple bread pudding w/ Tahitian vanilla bean custard sauce.
