Hawaii Flower Lei Greeting Honolulu Airport

The lei custom was introduced to Hawaii by early Polynesian voyagers who arrived from Tahiti navigating by the stars in sailing canoes. The tradition grew and these garlands were worn by early Hawaiians to beautify themselves and distinguish themselves from others.

With the advent of tourism in the islands, the lei quickly became the symbol of Hawaii to millions of visitors worldwide.

I just wanted to thank you for making the changes for us due to a plane being late. I also wanted to mention that my daughter was very pleased with the flowers she received, and was especially impressed with the gentleman that met her at the plane. In early 1900s when boat was the only way to reach Hawaii, lei vendors lined the pier at Aloha Tower to welcome malihini (visitors) to the islands and kama'aina (locals) as they return home. It is said that departing visitors threw their lei into the sea as their ships passed Diamond Head in the hopes that like the lei, they would return to the islands some day.

Things are a little faster paced With today's air travel, but you can easily bring back the nostalgia of old Hawaii by ordering a traditional flower lei greeting when you arrive at the Honolulu International Airport. It's a warm, wonderful way to begin a Hawaiian vacation.

Our leis are made with Dendrobium Orchids, Carnations, Plumerias, tuberose or combination of these flowers.

If ordering within 2 days of arrival there is a $15 charge per party (not per person). Only "Standard" Leis are available when ordering within 2 days of arrival.

Aloha! I just wanted to let you know that my sister and brother-in-law were very pleased and excited about the lei greeting they received upon their arrival in Honolulu.
