There is nothing quite as spectacular as seeing red molten lava, and KapohoKine Adventures takes you to where the action is! After Hawaii Volcanoes National park, we take you to the Puna District on the Big Islands East-side, home to the best lava viewing locations. Enjoy a delicious BBQ dinner at our private location before setting off for the heart of the volcano. Explore the Black Sand Beach at Kaimu & hear stories on the eruption of 1990 that destroyed the village of Kalapana. Next we drive as close as we safely can before setting off on foot to find the most recent surface outbreaks and ocean entries from these volcanoes in Hawaii. Watch as the black, smoking landscape changes right before your eyes as the sunsets. Skylights in the lava tube system and surface flows glow bright red as the crackle and hiss of escaping gasses and liquid rock changing to solid. We do our best to find molten lava on every tour, but due to the constantly changing nature of the eruption seeing molten lava cannot be guaranteed.

Requirements
| Guests should be able to negotiate stairs and walk for 20 minutes unassisted. State law requires child safety seats for all guests under 4 years of age. Booster seats required for all guests between ages 4 and 7 and under 4 feet 9 inches tall and 80 pounds weight (we’re happy to supply child safety or booster seats at no charge with advance notice). Guests under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by an adult. |

| All admission fees, plus beverages and a delicious picnic-style lunch and BBQ dinner are included. Please bring a government issued ID and a camera. Please wear comfortable clothes, shorts are fine, sweater or light jacket. We provide military-grade flashlights, walking sticks, sun block, dinner and drinks. Please wear sturdy closed toe shoes as slippers, sandals and flip-flops will not be accepted. A light jacket, hat, long pants, and sunglasses are all highly recommended. |
