Aloha Blue Charters Afternoon Whale Watch

Aloha Blue Charters - Afternoon Whale Watch

This Maui Whale Watching Tour is currently unavailable for booking on our site. Please visit our Maui Whale Watching Tour page for other available tours.

Come aboard the Hokua and enjoy a whale watching cruise along the scenic South Maui shoreline. This ocean channel between the four Hawaiian islands of Maui, Molokai, Lanai and Kahoolawe turns into a playground for Pacific humpback whales from December through April. In the summer, they spent their time feeding in the cold waters off Alaska, and in the winter, they rest in Hawaii’s warm waters and raise their young.

The Hokua is an ideal boat to watch whales frolic in Hawaii's waters. With a passenger capacity of just 30, it offers an uncrowded atmosphere and an eye level perspective compared to larger boats. On the Hokua, you’re closer to the water’s surface, allowing you to see whales up close. A marine naturalist on board will offer interesting narrative on these majestic mammals, and you’ll also have to chance to listen to the whales communicating with each other via a hydrophone – a marine speaker system. Refreshments and snacks are available on board as well.

Tour Highlights:

  • Cruise along the South Maui shoreline and watch whales
  • State-of-the-art hydrophone technology – broadcasts whale songs live
  • Plenty of great photo opportunities

Boat Info:

  • Hokua is 40' eco powered jet drive boat
  • 35 passenger capacity
