Like any other major metropolis, Honolulu offers plenty of events to keep you busy, from concerts to sports to theater. So what’s the best way to stay in the know and discover the best Honolulu events?

On the one hand, you could research magazines and websites before your trip. But they may only list headline events or big name shows. To really dig into the Honolulu scene, scope out the event centers’ calendars for yourself.

Here are Honolulu’s biggest and best event centers:

Hawaii Theater Center

The Hawaii Theater Center hosts a variety of shows throughout the year, from classical theater to concerts.

Hawaii Opera Theater

If you are an opera fan, then you should certainly stop by the Hawaii Opera Theater.

KumuKahua Theater

The Kumu Kahua Theater is located in downtown Honolulu and regularly presents plays about Hawaiian life.

Neal S. Blaisdell Center and Waikiki Shell

The Neal S. Blaisdell Center is an enormous entertainment center.

The center consists of an arena, an exhibition hall, a concert hall, meeting rooms, and a galleria. It hosts concerts, events, trade shows, community shows, meetings, sporting events, and more.

The Waikiki Shell, located in Kapiolani Park, is an outdoor amphitheater. Both venues are owned and operated by departments within the Honolulu city government.

Close to Waikiki you can find the Hawaii Convention Center, an outdoor convention center that blends the natural beauty of Hawaii with cutting-edge technology.
