The Cazimero Lei Day Concert

Sunday May 1, 2016 at Castle Theater, 1 Cameron Way, Kahului, HI:

The MACC (Maui Arts & Cultural Center) Ho’onanea Series puts on a lively and colorful annual celebration featuring the Hawaiian artist, musician, hula expert and lauded showman Robert Cazimero.

Named the Cazimero Lei Day Concert, this event is a great way to experience local culture and music

Before the concert begins, the courtyard of the Castle Theater will come alive with hula and music, where many island lei crafters will offer leis to make your concert experience complete.

The Seabury Hall Annual Craft Fair

Saturday May 7, 2016 9 am – 4 pm, Seabury Hall, 480 Olinda Road above Makawao:

The Seabury Hall Annual Craft Fair is a favorite springtime event for many locals. Always held the Saturday before Mother’s Day, Seabury Hall – a big supporter of independent education on the island – holds this popular Maui event to benefit Seabury’s Tuition Assistance Fund.

At the fair, you can purchase beautifully handcrafted souvenirs from local jewelers, painters, photographers, sculptors, and other craftsmen and women.

Also, you will be able to shop for fresh produce, flowers, and more while enjoying the great live Hawaiian music and other attractions. Bands will play on the central stage, and you and your kids can enjoy pony rides by the ocean, bouncy castles, face painting, and water slides.

A great selection of food will be served at Restaurant Row, and auto enthusiasts can even enjoy a classic car show.

Paddle Imua 2016

Saturday, May 7, 2016, 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm, Maliko Gulch:

Paddle Imua is an annual event put on by Bluesmiths Paddle, now in its 5th year. This stand-up paddle race is held to raise funds for Maui County children with special needs, to help them  attend Camp Imua.

There are races in stand-up paddleboarding, OC1, OC2, prone paddleboarding, and surf skiing. The races are open to men and women of every age, and it is designed to be a fun fundraising event. Registration for the race is $50 online and $70 on the day of the race.

The 9-mile race finishes at the Hawaiian Canoe Club. Post-race festivities include music, prizes, and entertainment.
