Anyone taking a Maui vacation is bound to stop through Lahaina for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
If you find yourself in Lahaina before midday, then there are a few places you most definitely must visit for a cheap breakfast.
1. 808 Grindz Cafe
808 Grindz Café is a great spot to fill your stomach for breakfast or lunch. With one in Lahaina and one in Kona, you can chow down on some of Hawaii’s best, cheapest breakfasts whether you’re on Maui or the Big Island.
Most meals are under $10 and pancakes or waffles go for $4-7 a plate. Hungry travelers can pay a bit more for steak and eggs, steak and shrimp and eggs, and other huge dishes.
2. Leoda’s Kitchen and Pie Shop
Leoda’s is famous for its mouth-watering pies, which include coconut cream pie, banana cream pie, apple crumb, and more.
But the kitchen also dishes out great breakfasts. The next time you’re in Lahaina, stop by for fantastic egg breakfasts. Farm fresh eggs with bacon, bacon and egg sandwiches, and seared ahi benedict are a few of Leoda’s morning offerings.
Breakfast meals start at $9, and you can also find lighter fare for a few dollars a piece.
3. Sunrise Café
Sunrise Café is a must-visit for anyone taking a Maui vacation. It’s a small place that may be difficult to find, so ask around if you get lost.
Once you’re inside, though, it will be worth it. This café’s family-style breakfasts are reasonably priced and include dishes you’ll never be able to find on the mainland. Loco moco, waffles with papaya, shrimp omelets, and “salmon benny” are just a few of the unique flavors you can dig into.
4. Aloha Mixed Plate
Another Front Street fave, Aloha Mixed Plate dishes out … you guessed it … mixed plates of every variety. They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and cook up some of the best Hawaiian flavors you can find on Maui.
This restaurant is yet another item to check off your must-visit list, since it offers such a great selection of meals and deals. In fact, the menu is so diverse you could probably eat here every meal on every day of your vacation and still eat something different.
All breakfasts have a Hawaiian twist: kalua pig omelet, house fried rice topped with egg, saimin noodles, and plenty of other local dishes that you just need to try for yourself.
5. Hawaiian Village Coffee
As you might expect, Hawaiian Village Coffee is a coffee shop and café.
For such a quaint café, this coffee house has a large selection of breakfast items. The meals here are ideal if you’re on the go or just want to grab a quick bite en route to the beach.
Menu items include bagels, breakfast bagel sandwiches, pastries, and the “raw energy ball,” a healthy snack you’ll have to see for yourself.
As you can see, it’s not too hard to find cheap breakfasts in Lahaina.
