1st – 9th April: Contemporary Photography in Hawaii 2016

The Contemporary Photography exhibition in Honoluluis a great chance to learn more about Hawaii’s art scene.

Taking place at the ARTS at Marks Garage, the exhibition is juried and will feature a number of pieces across all media, including analog, digital, color and black and white. The event will showcase photographers from across Hawaii, with professional and amateur experience.

The exhibition is open from 12pm to 5pm and is free entry.

15th – 16th April: 25th Annual ‘Iolani Fair

Ride the Ferris wheel, eat great food, and pet the animals at the petting zoo, at this year’s annual ‘Iolani Fair.

Taking place at ‘Iolani School in Mo’ili’ili on the 15th and 16th of April between 12pm and 10.30pm, this year’s family-friendly festival has adopted a “race to space” theme, with its rides, crafts, food, and entertainment.

Try some fabulous food from local Oahu chefs, including clam chowder, chicken mole tacos, and Bulgogi wraps, as the kids enjoy fun pony rides and live entertainment from E.K. Fernandez.

Entrance is free.

23rd April: Honolulu Brewers Festival

The Honolulu Brewers Festival, which takes place between 2 pm and 6 pm on April 23rd will showcase more than 90 craft beers made in Hawaii, the US and other international breweries.

The event will not only feature beer, it will also have some tasty food at twenty restaurants, as well as live entertainment from local musicians playing a mix of styles. The event raises money for the Hawaii Agricultural Foundation.

Tickets are $70 and the festival will take place at Kaka’ako Makai Gateway Park, near the Kaka’ako Waterfront Park.

24th April: Duke Kahanamoku Beach Challenge

If you prefer to spend your days at the beach then head to the Duke Kahanamoku Beach Challenge.

You can take part if you wish, or you can just watch participants try canoe racing, stand-up paddle board aching, and ancient Hawaiian makahiki land games, including Hawaiian tug-of-war. The event takes place at Duke’s Beach and Lagoon at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort.

All funds raised go to the Waikiki Community Center and their work helping low-come families in the area.
