Oahu has farms, so you can also expect to find farm-to-table restaurants in Oahu.
A recent local food movement on the island has increased the number of farm-to-table restaurants in Oahu. So, whether you are a vegetarian, a vegan, or someone who enjoys mountains of meat, you can find plenty of farm-fresh food on this Hawaiian island.
If you’re taking a vacation to Oahu any time soon, check out these great restaurants:
Town
Located in Honolulu on Waialae Avenue, close to Diamond Head and the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Town brings farm-fresh flare to your table…and your taste buds.
Over the past several years, Town has won award after award, so you can never go wrong when you dine here. Their motto is: ““Local first, organic whenever possible, with Aloha always.”
The restaurant is open Monday through Saturday for lunch and dinner, with a focus on American and Italian cuisine. Menu offerings change based on the season and the availability of ingredients.
Reservations are recommended.
Pa’akai
For a bit of romance, head north to Turtle Bay Resort’s Pa’akai.
This “ocean-to-table” restaurant dishes out some of the very best local seafood that you can find on the island.
From fresh fish to farm-raised lobsters to Kauai prawns, you’ll have a hard time choosing what to eat. There are plenty of signature dishes to choose from, as well as signature cocktails to accompany them.
This is one of the top farm-to-table restaurants in Oahu, so make sure you book in advance.
Alan Wong’s
Alan Wong’s in Honolulu is another great choice when it comes to farm-fresh, locally sourced food.
The winner of four awards in 2016 alone (so far), Alan Wong’s is another can’t-miss dining experience. Its open kitchen allows you to view the chefs as they prepare everything from wood-grilled mahimahi to roast duck.
Open for dinner 7 days a week, this restaurant is an ideal destination for a bit of romance, a bit of local food, and your choice of libations to go with the meal.
Wong’s other location in Honolulu, the Pineapple Room at the Ala Moana Shopping Center, is another great choice for unforgettable ocean-fresh cuisine.
Morimoto Waikiki
Morimoto Waikiki, created by Iron Chef winner Masaharu Morimoto, is one of the best Japanese restaurants in Honolulu. Morimoto himself has a distinguished career as a chef and has opened numerous restaurants around the world.
His unique menu is unquestionably Japanese, but there are influences from other world cuisines, including Southeast Asia and Europe. A multi-course chef’s choice will set you back more than $100, but most of the signature dishes are less than $20 a piece.
Morimoto Waikiki is open for lunch and dinner.
These are some of the most popular farm-to-table restaurants in Oahu, but new ones crop up every day.
