Honolulu City Lights returns for the 35th year of holiday cheer on Saturday, December 7, 2019 (opening night). The Honolulu City Lights opening night festivities kick off a monthlong celebration of dazzling lights and displays, family-friendly activities and merry fun on the Frank F. Fasi Civic Center Grounds in downtown Honolulu (530 S. King Street). The annual event has been a beloved island tradition for thousands of residents and visitors alike.
The official tree lighting ceremony will start at 6 pm. One of the highlights of the evening is the Public Workers' Electric Light Parade, a dazzling procession of festooned city vehicles and school marching bands that will travel from Chinatown through King Street. The opening night also includes a free, star-studded holiday concert near the Sky Gate. Food and beverages will be sold on the grounds throughout the evening.

4:00 pm: Food Booths & Keiki Rides open
6:00 pm: Tree Lighting Ceremony at Honolulu Hale, Electric Light Parade begins on River Street and proceeds down King Street
6:00 pm: Lighting of the City Christmas Tree ceremony
6:30 pm: Mayor Kirk Caldwell will illuminate the city's 50-foot holiday tree
7:30 pm: Free photos with Santa in the Mission Memorial Auditorium and Holiday Concert at Sky Gate
11:00 pm: Opening night festivities end
