This 2.5 hour guided kayak tour is great for beginners. You'll launch directly from Kailua Beach and after a quick 15-minute paddle, you'll get to jump ashore and explore your new-found island!

Flat Island, also known as Popoia Island, is a sea bird sanctuary located just offshore from Kailua Beach. Your experienced tour guide will escort you safely around the island, teaching you about the volcanic history, geology and bird and sea life in the area.

Choose between a group or a private tour. With a private tour, it will be just you and your family or friends with the tour guide.

Driving directions from Waikiki:
Get on H-1 West and take exit 21B onto the PALI Highway (Highway 61). The PALI Highway will take you over the mountains in the middle of the island and down the other side into Kailua. After the tunnels at the top of the mountains, turn RIGHT at the 5th traffic light onto Hamakua Drive. The store is on the left at 134 Hamakua Drive.
Requirements:
Restrictions:: Participants must be at least 8 years old.
Minimum party of 2 required to book for group tours. Private tours have the option for a single person to book.
Tandem kayak (2 person) is the standard kayak used for pairs so long as weight doesn't exceed 420 lbs (190 kg). This is for safety and ease for paddling. If there is an odd number in your party that person will go on a single kayak.
Special Notes:: Transportation of kayak: Your tour guide will show you how to load equipment on to most vehicles (including smart cars and convertibles). Up to 3 kayaks will fit on one vehicle.
