When should I book my tickets?

It is best to make your reservation in advance and as early as possible. Many tours and activities are very popular and sell out weeks in advance. If for any reason you change your mind and would like to cancel your reservation, we offer a full refund for most tours and activities if you cancel outside of 48 hours (72 hours for some activities and groups of 6+), with the exception of inter-island tours because of the non-refundable nature of airplane tickets. You are also welcome to change the date or time of a confirmed booking free of charge if there is an opening on the tour and it is outside of 48 hours of your tour. For parties of 8 or more, 7 days’ notice is required for cancellations.

How do I get my tickets?

Your tickets are emailed to you once your reservation is confirmed.

What if I cannot print my tickets?

Please let a representative know if you cannot print your tickets. We can email or fax the vendor so that they have your tickets on file when you arrive.

How long does it take to confirm a reservation?

Reservations can take up to 48 hours to confirm. Generally, a reservation is confirmed within the same business day if within business hours or on the next business day if outside of business hours. Some companies/ tours take longer than others to confirm. If you have not received your voucher confirmation email after 48 hours, please contact us.

What is your cancellation policy?

Our cancellation policy/terms and conditions are as follows:
  - You will receive a full refund if we are unable to confirm your booking.
  - There is no fee for cancellations outside of 48 hours, except for Inter Island Tours because of the non-refundable nature of airplane tickets or as specific tours notate due to the activity provider's policy.
  - No refund for cancellations made less than 48 hours (72 hours for some activities and groups of 6+) before the activity. For parties of 8 or more, 7 days’ notice is required for cancellations.
  - Some activities have longer cancellation policies due to the activity provider's policy. Those activities will have a Special Cancellation box to check.
  - You are welcome to change the date or time of a confirmed booking free of charge if there is an opening on the tour and it is outside of 48 hours of your tour.
  - Hawaii Discount will make every effort to change a tour or activity within the cancellation period, but if it is within the cancellation policy, it is up to the individual activity vendor.
  - A full refund will be given for any cancellation by the vendor due to weather/unforeseen reasons and you have the right to reschedule or choose a full refund.

Activity specific cancellation policies include:

  - There are no refunds on lei greetings for flights that you are not on, but we will make every effort to make sure you receive the leis on another flight or to your hotel as long as you call us with the new flight information.
  - If renting a car, you agree that you have read about all fees and surcharges that will be collected at the agency and that you are responsible for those fees and any changes made to your rental at the counter.
  - Gift Certificates or unused portions of Gift Certificates are non-refundable.

The following terms are agreed upon:

  - You agree to age, weight, and other restrictions as noted for the tour or activity.
  - You understand that it is your responsibility to review the voucher and to contact Hawaii Discount if any information is incorrect or to make any changes.
  - By clicking submit, you agree that Hawaii Discount may contact you via cell/phone or email for information on any changes in a tour or activity due to cancellation due to weather or reasons unforeseen by the vendor (ex: mechanical problems, closures, etc).
  - You agree to abide by the individual vendor’s code of conduct and that you will not be refunded because a vendor did not allow you on a tour due to misconduct.
Do you offer any additional discounts, such as military, kama'aina, etc?

Unfortunately, due to our already discounted rates, there are no additional discounts available unless otherwise noted on the specific activity.

Do you offer any group rates?

Some tours/ activities allow for group rates. Please call 866-482-9775 if you have a party over 10 and we can check for you.

How are you able to offer lower prices than the companies directly?

We have contracts with the various vendors who offer the activities that allow us to purchase tickets at discounted rate, and most of that discount is passed on to you, the customer. Vendors offer these rates to discount agencies because of the volume of business brought in.

Is this a timeshare?

No, we just offer discounted rates on your favorite tours! There’s no catch!

Can I change my date/ time of my reservation?

You are welcome to change the date or time of a confirmed booking free of charge if there is an opening on the tour and it is outside of 48 hours of your tour.
Hawaii Discount will make every effort to change a tour or activity date within the cancellation period, but if it is within the cancellation policy, it is up to the individual activity vendor.

Is the price listed online tax included?

Unless otherwise noted on the specific activity, taxes/fees/surcharges are added once you add the activity to your cart. Hawaii Discount charges a 8.167% processing fee on all activities across the board to cover harbor fees, fuel surcharges, applicable taxes, handling fees, convenience charges, and other various charges that we pay on your behalf, unless otherwise noted on the individual activity. Car rentals have additional taxes and fees that will be paid when you pick up the vehicle.

What are the additional taxes and fees for Car Rentals?

These fees will be collected by the agency directly when you pick up your rental (You will not see these fees in your cart). For an exact estimate, please call 866-482-9775.

  - $3.00 per day Rent Tax Surcharge (Does not apply to Oahu)   - $4.50 per day Customer Facility Charge
  - Sales tax is 4.166%
  - Honolulu/Waikiki Sales Tax is 4.712%
  - Vehicle registration fee that varies per vehicle, but is less than 3%
  - A concession recovery fee of 11.11%
Will they pick me up at my hotel?

Many activities on Oahu offer transportation. Please refer to the exact activity page to see if transportation is offered. Some activities offer free transportation from Waikiki and some charge an additional fee for transportation. Many tours only pick up from major hotels in the area. If you have been given a different pick up location than your hotel, then that is the closest pick up location to your hotel. Big Island, Kauai, and Maui activities usually do not offer transportation unless otherwise noted on the specific activity.

If I reserve through your company, am I getting the same tour they offer?

Yes! You can save money on the EXACT same tours by booking through HawaiiDiscount! Same tours, cheaper prices!

Do I have to pay at the time of reservation?

Yes. We collect payment at the time of booking.

What if I want to pay cash?

Unfortunately, we cannot accept cash since we will not be on location when you check in for your tour. Also, to abide by our vendors’ cancellation policies, we do need to have the payment already.

How soon do I need to book?

Activities vary in availability. Some activities can be booked the day of the tour and still have availability and others can book up weeks or months in advance. For that reason, we recommend that you make your reservations as soon as possible so that you don’t run into any problems with availability.

Are there any vegetarian options/ gluten free options etc?

Yes, most activities that offer food offer an option for vegetarians or other special dietary restrictions. Most vendors require anywhere from 24-72 hours’ notice on these special meal requests, so be sure to let Hawaii Discount know when you make your reservation so that we can put in your request or as soon as possible if your reservation is already made.

When will I be picked up for my tour?

If the tour you booked provides transportation and you selected the transportation option, your voucher should have your pick up time and location under the “Where and When”. If the voucher says “Check in”, you may not have selected the transportation or the activity may not offer a transportation option. Please call 866-482-9775 to make changes.

Are there any additional fees when renting a vehicle?

Yes, there are additional taxes and fees collected at the agency. Please see “What are the additional taxes and fees for Car Rentals?”

Are there discounts for booking multiple activities?

All of our discounts are “A la carte” style. Unless otherwise noted, discounts apply to individual activities and do not change if booking multiple items.

I was issued a refund. How long does it take to process?

For US banks, refunds can take up to 7-10 business days to process. For International banks, it depends on the bank but can take a few weeks at times.

How does a lei greeting work / How will we receive our leis?

Our lei greeters will meet you as you exit the flight (Honolulu) or as you enter baggage claim (Kona, Kahului, and Lihue airports). They will be dressed in purple and white Hawaiian shirts and will have your name/message on a sign. They will then present you with your leis in the typical Hawaiian fashion and then help you if you need to locate your next flight, car rental, shuttles, etc.

What are your lei greetings made of?

The types of flowers change on a season by season basis. Please call 866 482 9775 for current information.

I want to surprise my family member/friend/coworker/spouse/etc with a lei greeting. Do I have to tell them to look for a sign?

Yes, we do not recommend surprise lei greetings. While this is a nice gesture, many times it can end in missed greetings due to uninformed recipients. Unfortunately, there are no refunds for guests who did not see their greeters. We recommend that you tell the guest to look for a sign with their names on it.

I would like to buy a lei greeting, but I was wondering if it’s possible to mix flowers, such as the tuberose lei and the standard lei?

Yes, we can usually mix flowers and will do everything we can to try to accommodate any special requests.

I am interested in purchasing a honeymooners lei greeting/ pregnancy lei greeting, do you have those?

Do I have to sign up for anything to get your rates?

No! There’s no risk, no timeshares and no catch! Just cheaper prices for the same tours!

Is pricing different over the phone?

If there are any special prices for calling in, it will be listed on the activity online to call in for special prices.

Where is your public office?

Unfortunately, we do not have a public office and work exclusively online or over the phone. This helps to keep low prices!

Can you send me a brochure of your activities in the mail?

Unfortunately, we do not have brochures to send as we work exclusively online or over the phone. You can look at our webpage www.hawaiidiscount.com for a complete list of activities that we offer.

Can I get a refund if I don’t go to my activity?

Due to the cancellation policy, no cancellations/ refunds are acceptable within 48 hours of your tour. If you do not show up for your tour, then you will be considered a “no-show” and you will not receive any refund.

What if the weather is bad?

If the vendor cancels the tour, either the vendor or Hawaii Discount will contact you via phone/email regarding the cancellation. At that point, it is your choice to either reschedule or receive a full refund. If the vendor does not cancel the tour, you will be considered a “no-show” if you do not go to your activity/tour even if the weather is bad.

What if I want to cancel the activity I have booked and book something else instead with you? Can I do that and if so, is there a service charge?

If you are outside of the change/cancel period, we can make changes to your reservation including cancelling one activity and booking another in its place. Hawaii Discount does not charge any service charges as long as you are outside the 48 hour no cancellation window.

What happens if I miss my pickup?

There are several different policies depending on the vendor in question. Please call 866 482 9775 for options. We may be able to reschedule (Rescheduling fees sometimes apply), or you may need to take a taxi/ drive to the location yourself. There are no refunds for missed pickups provided that the correct pickup location and time was provided on your voucher. If you have any questions regarding your pickup, please call 866 482 9775 as soon as possible.

I thought I ordered pick up for my activity, but it says Check in..., how can I add it?

If the voucher says “Check in”, you may not have selected the transportation or the activity may not offer a transportation option. Please call 866-482-9775 to make changes.

Can I go to the luau tonight? Will they pick me up?

This depends on the luaus availability, both for luau tickets and for transportation. We do not recommend waiting until the day of to book your luau, but if you would like to book a luau for today, please call 866-482-9775.

I noticed a section that says “fees”, what are they?

Unless otherwise noted on the specific activity, taxes/fees/surcharges are added once you add the activity to your cart. Can I bring a stroller / wheelchair on the bus?

Most tour operators who offer transportation do have space for a stroller or fold-up wheelchair. Please call 866-482-9775 to confirm for the specific tour you are interested in. Motorized scooters and wheelchairs need at least 48 hours’ notice to confirm even for the tours that can accommodate.

I’m afraid that your website is not secure and do not want to process payment on an unsecured website. What can I do?

Our “Buy Now” option will take you to a secured site for payment, operated by FirstData and secured by state of the art encryption technology to keep your financial data secure.

Can I mail a check to you and you mail me my receipt and voucher?

Usually, we cannot accept checks. We process payment via credit card when you make the reservation. If you have a special circumstance that requires a check, please call 866-482-9775 and we will be happy to discuss it with you!

My payment is not being accepted, what can I do?

Chances are your payment has not been accepted due to an error in the expiration date, security code, billing address, or billing zip code. If you are having an error, please call 866-482-9775 if you are unsure what the error is from.

What is the difference between the different tours offered on the island?

Many times, the differences are between the different vendors who offer the tour or the actual tours themselves. Differences can range from duration, menus, inclusions, etc. If you have looked at the options and still need help deciding, please call 866 482 9775 for recommendations.

What tours can children/infants go on?

Children/infants cannot participate in some tours. Please review requirements/restrictions for the specific tour you are interested in.

My pick up says it is at a different hotel than I am staying, why is that?

Many tours only pick up from major hotels in the area. If you have been given a different pick up location than your hotel, then that is the closest pick up location to your hotel.

What if I need to change my hotel information you have on file?

Please call 866-482-9775 to make any changes in your reservation

What are the restrictions on my tour?

Please see the Restrictions and Requirements sections at the bottom of the page for restrictions and requirements for your particular tour.

How far away is the check in location from my hotel?

Most vouchers have a link to Google map in the voucher. You can pull up that link and then type in your hotel name under directions for information and directions

What days do these tours run?

Each tour is different. Please check the “Operation Days” at the bottom of the activity page. If you do not see anything in that section, please call 866-482-9775.

What do I need to bring on my tour?

You need to bring your voucher and anything listed on your voucher. You should bring a towel for all water activities. Any additional items you may need will be listed on your voucher. If you are still unsure, please call 866-482-9775.

What does my tour include and what is the price?

Tour inclusions and prices are listed on each individual activity page.

My payment has been processed; does that mean my activity is confirmed?

Payment is collected when you make a reservation, so that we can confirm your reservation if it is available. If the time/date/activity that you have selected is not available, we will contact you via phone number and email address that you provided and suggest alternate dates/times/activities. If you decide not to switch to an alternate date/time/activity, we will reverse the charge back to your card.

How do I place a reservation?"

You can place a reservation here on our website on the activity page or by calling us at 866-482-9775. If you're placing your reservation online, you'll simply fill out the form on the activity page and select the tour date/time wanted. Then you'll add your reservation to the cart. You can add multiple reservations to the cart before checking out if you would like to book more than one thing.
Once you add the wanted activities to your cart, you'll go to the cart page. There you can review your order and the cancellation policy/terms and conditions before making your purchase. We'll be notified of your purchase and begin working on your confirmation for you.
