Maui Activities and Things to Do
As the second largest island in the Hawaiian island chain, Maui offers a
wide variety of fun things to do. Some of the Maui activities you can
do are unique to this island. Where else can you stand on top of one of
the largest dormant volcanoes in the world? Maui's Mt. Haleakala rises
10,023 feet above sea level. You can take part in a fascinating crater
hike or sightseeing excursion.
Hawaii Discount offers a huge selection of Maui activities. No
matter if you are interested in ocean or land-based activities, you are
sure to find what you are looking for – and best of all, at discounted

Other Maui activities that are fun for everyone are deep sea fishing trips. Ever wanted to enjoy the thrill of reeling in a huge Pacific Blue Marlin, Yellowfin Tuna or Wahoo? Come aboard one of the fishing charters that depart from Maui's Ma'alaea or Lahaina Harbor. If you are on Maui in winter, between November and March, another fun activity that's great for the entire family is whale watching. Maui is the best island in Hawaii for a whale watching cruise. The shallow waters between Maui and Lanai are the whales’ preferred breeding ground. If you are on Maui in the summer, you can enjoy dolphin watching instead. Talking about shoreline cruises, Maui is also a great destination for sunset sailing and dinner cruises. On no other island can you enjoy a shoreline cruise and see the shores of three other Hawaiian islands in the same time – Molokai, Lanai and Kahoolawe.
Another Maui activity that's great for adventure seekers is ziplining.
Zip through eucalyptus forests and lush surroundings – a unique way to
see the island – including tingles in your stomach! If you love the
ocean there are all kinds of Maui activities in the waters surrounding
the island. An activity that's unique to Maui is a snorkeling or diving
excursion to the tiny island of Molokini, located about 2.5 miles
offshore. It is considered a prime scuba diving location with excellent
visibility – often as deep as 150 feet and more. In case you would like
to see marine life up close without having to get wet, no problem.
Discover Maui's fascinating coral gardens and marine life on board a
glass bottom boat.
Popular land-based Maui activities are hiking and horseback riding. Hike through a lush rainforest or pick one of the trails at Haleakala National Park and enjoy breathtaking views of the surroundings, which are truly otherworldly – the volcanic craters and cinder cones will almost make you feel like you're walking on the moon. Or how about a ride on an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) or Segway? That's a great alternative if you just want to cruise around and do some sightseeing without walking much. Other popular land-based activities on Maui are golfing (the island is home to several championship golf courses).
