Almost as tall is Mount Waialeale with 5,148 feet (1,569 m). The northeastern slopes of it are among the wettest places in the world, with an amazing 450 inches of rain per year. The constant rain has eroded a series of deep valleys into the slopes of the mountains, including the impressive Waimea Canyon, which measures nearly 10 miles long and a half-mile deep in places and again is a location for one of the most popular Things to do in Hawaii.
