Explore Maui's top natural attraction – Mt. Haleakala – rising 10,023 feet. From sea level, you'll travel through Paniolo (Hawaiian cowboy) country, up beyond the protea farms of Kula and then above the tree line to where cacti and rare Hawaiian silversword plants grow. At the summit of Haleakala, you'll enjoy spectacular views of the moonlike crater, which is the size of Manhattan.

Special Instructions

Where and When:: Departs Kahului Harbor at 8:30 am. Returns at 12:30 pm. Look for a green Roberts Hawaii bus.
Requirements:
Restrictions:: Persons with heart or respiratory problems and pregnant women should check with their doctor before traveling to the summit of Haleakala, given the reduced oxygen at high elevation.
Lahaina Tender: If arriving from Lahaina port, please book your tender reservations with the ship 24 hours prior to tour time to ensure that you are at the pier side in time for your tour pick-up. Inform the ship staff that you require a tender reservation (a tender reservation is a reservation with another vessel that will transport you from the ship to pier side).
Tour subject to cancellation if the minimum number of 4 participants is not met.
Special Notes:: The weather at the summit of Haleakala is unpredictable. Temperatures commonly range between 40 degrees Fahrenheit and 65 degrees Fahrenheit, but can be below freezing at any time of the year with the wind chill factor. Wear lightweight, layered clothing that will keep you warm even in wet weather, and wear sturdy, comfortable shoes.
