Mahaulepu Beach
Mahaulepu Beach is a beachcomber’s paradise with a variety of landscapes to explore such as: sandstone cliffs, lava tubes, isolated coves, and blowholes. Discovering this sacred part of the island makes it an exciting day to be at Mahaulepu Beach, which sits right along the Mahaulepu Coastal Trail - a coastal hike that is the last stretch of accessible coastline along the south shore of Kauai that has not been developed.
Wind surfers and kite-boarders are attracted to Mahaulepu Beach because of its stronger trade winds making it ideal to do such activities. The waters are better suited for the more experienced swimmer and snorkeler because of the stronger winds. But with a wide range of things to do and see, Mahaulepu Beach is a fun and unique place to have fun. Please keep in mind that whatever you bring into the beach needs to be brought back out with you. Learn more about the preservation of Mahaulepu Beach by contacting a nonprofit group called Malama Mahaulepu, who has been working to protect the area in effort to keep it undeveloped and preserving its natural beauty for everyone to enjoy.
