Taro Fields
Taro was the main crop of Hawaii for centuries. All Islands have Taro fields but in particular interest are the taro fields of Kauai. Taro is a starch food and has been a staple in the Hawaiian diet for centuries.
A great are to view some taro fields in Kauai are at the Hanalei Valley lookout. It is a short drive along Highway 56 from Princeville. The lookout is just off of the highway where it turns into Highway 560.
