Dragon’s Teeth in Maui
The Dragon’s Teeth in Maui was caused by harsh wind blowing over Makalua-puna Point, causing the lava to flow upward, harden and eventually resembling teeth. The salt spray over many years has whitened the lava and making the name, Dragon’s Teeth, even more fitting.
Located in West Maui, Dragon’s Teeth is a five minute hike from the paved parking lot along the edge of the golf course. Make sure you wear protective shoes because the rocks are sharp and uneven in places. Strong winds also can prevail. Note that there are no restroom facilities or water available.
