π Ocean Encounters - Morning Reef Snorkel
Discover the beauty of Kealakekua Bay on this memorable Kona snorkel adventure. Cruise down the scenic Kona Coast from Honokohau Harbor to one of Hawaii's most beautiful marine sanctuaries, where clear water, vibrant coral reefs and abundant marine life create exceptional snorkeling conditions. This protected bay is also home to the historic Captain Cook Monument and is well known as a resting area for Hawaiian spinner dolphins, which are often seen in the area.
Once you arrive, slip into the warm waters and explore a colorful underwater world filled with tropical fish and thriving reef life. The bay's lava rock shoreline and calm, sheltered coves make it an especially beautiful place to snorkel, with excellent visibility and plenty to see beneath the surface. Because this remote location is difficult to reach by land, visiting by boat offers a special opportunity to experience one of the Big Islandβs true snorkeling gems.
New to snorkeling? Don't worry. The Ocean Encounters crew specializes in first-time snorkelers because they believe that everyone should get the chance to experience the Big Island's spectacular underwater beauty. Their first mates will snorkel with you until you feel comfortable on your own. They have excellent flotation devices and a wide assortment of masks, snorkels and rubber fins, from sizes 1 to 13. All gear is included for your enjoyment.
