Hilo Ocean Adventures - Introductory Beach Scuba Dive

The perfect diving tour for non-certified divers! Hilo Ocean Adventures offers an introductory diving tour from the beach in Hilo. This activity is also perfect for certified divers to introduce their uncertified family or friends into diving! A professionally trained scuba instructor will teach you the basics before taking you on a tour of the reef. There will be classroom instruction, instruction in a pool, and then an open water dive at one of Hilo's pristine ocean reefs that you get to from the beach.

Tour Inclusions:

Instructional material, all gear and dive instructor
45 minute classroom instruction, 45 minute pool instruction, and 45 minute ocean dive for an approximate total of 4 hours
Dive depth is around 20 feet

Once checked in at the dive shop, transportation will be provided to the dive site.
Requirements:
Restrictions:: Minimum of 2 guests required.
Minimum Age: 15 years

All participants must be able to converse and understand detailed instructions in English.
All participants must be able to swim unassisted in the open ocean and able to use a snorkel or regulator.
All participants must be in good physical condition and must be able to carry 50 lbs of equipment on their back unassisted. Those with lung problems or other major medical issues should contact Hilo Ocean Adventures before booking.

Please make sure that you check in on time and are ready to start class (PADI medical form in hand or emailed and Hilo Ocean Adventures waivers filled out). If you have any conditions on the medical form you will be immediately turned away and unable to attend your dive with a $50 rescheduling fee.
All guests must complete the PADI/NAUI mandatory medical questionnaire form 72 hours prior to tour date.
All divers MUST wait at least 12 hours before ascending to altitude above 2,500 ft after a one-tank dive. A two-tank dive increases your wait time to 18 hours.

Participants must successfully pass the classroom and confined portion of the activity to proceed to the ocean dive component. No refunds will be honored for individuals who submit late medical questionnaires or who are unable to complete the activity in full.

Trips go rain or shine, unless Hilo Ocean Adventures must cancel for the safety of guests.
Special Notes:: Please use Reef Safe sunscreen. This is sunscreen that does not contain oxybenzone, which is the leading cause of reef stress and coral bleaching.
