🏄♂️ Poipu Beach Surf School - Surf Lessons
Join Poipu Beach Surf School for a safe, fun and friendly surfing experience. Run by a professional waterman and former bodyboarder, Doug Muraoka, the Poipu Beach Surf School offers a variety of surfing lessons on Kauai's south shore. Instructors stay with you for the whole time, never leaving you alone in the ocean and are lifeguard and CPR trained/certified.
For all surfing lessons there is a 10-15 minute land lesson video at check-in that goes over the surfboard, how to paddle the board, how to stand up and some ocean safety tips. The rest of the lesson is spent in the water.

Group Lesson
Group lessons have 4 students per instructor.
Semi-Private Group Lesson
Semi-private lessons have 2-3 students per instructor and are a great option for friends or family who want a lesson with no one else.
Private Lesson
Private lessons are 1 student per instructor which gives you a more hands-on approach with your instructor and a less crowded line up. This option is also ideal and suggested for kids age 6-9.

After check-in, follow the instructor (driving) to the nearby beach parking lot to start the surf lesson.
- Restrictions:
Minimum age required is 10 years old for a group lesson, and 6 years old for a private and semi-private lesson.
All participants must be able to swim.
- Special Notes:
Make sure to have transportation. You'll stop by the check-in location for check-in and to view the safety video before driving over to the beach area (following instructor).
