The Tree Tunnel
The Tree Tunnel of Kauai is a row of Eucalyptus Trees that was planted approximately 150 years ago by the Scotchman, Walter Duncan McBryde. In more recent years, hurricanes have damaged the tree tops, diminishing the tree canopy that spanned the road below. A much more impressive sight in the previous years before the hurricane, the row of trees now provides a natural corridor on the way to Po’ipu.
To get to the Tree Tunnel take Highway 50 East from Kalaheo. You will then take a right on Highway 520, also known as Maluhia Road.
