Q: Where can I see lava?
A: There is only one place in Hawaii to see lava, and that is on the Big Island at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, where Mt. Kilauea is found. Currently, there are no active lava flows, and a Hawaii Volcano Tour shows you the sites of the volcano up close. The best views of the volcano and any active lava flows are found on a Hawaii Helicopter Tour.
Q: How can we get between islands?
A: The only option is to fly from one island to the next. Flights are short and you can always take a Hawaii Inter-Island Tour to a neighbor island for a day of exploring and sightseeing, returning back to your original island at the end of the day.
Q: Which is the best island to visit?
A: Each of the Hawaiian Islands offer its own unique version of Hawaii so this is a hard question to answer. For first time visitors, consider Oahu or Maui, and if you’re making a return trip, head to an island that you haven’t been to. Really, any of the islands will make an incredible destination.
Q: Do Tours provide transportation?
A: In a majority of cases, yes! You’ll be picked up from your hotel, and returned to the same location at the end of your day. Be sure to double check that your selection includes transportation and also double check your pick up location.
Q: Where are the big waves?
A: The winter time in Hawaii brings the big waves and your best bet to see them is from the north and west facing shores of the island you are visiting. The most famous places to catch the big waves are on Oahu’s North Shore.
Q: Where can I find a waterfall?
A: waterfalls are sometimes easy to spot; all you have to do is look towards the mountains during a rainstorm and there will likely be a few cascading from the towering mountains. You can head into the rainforests for a hidden waterfall hike or take a Hawaii Helicopter Tour to find waterfalls that cannot be reached by land.
