Hawaiian Cocktails - Hawaii Discount

Just about as soon as you arrive to the islands, you’ll be ready for a relaxing stroll on the beach and a tropical drink. There are a few drinks that are synonymous with Hawaii, combining fresh fruit juices, an appropriate amount of alcohol, and a garnish of fruit to create an appealing drink that is both refreshing and nice to look at. And for those who choose to abstain from alcohol, these drinks can be made without the booze, remaining a refreshing drink for a warm day.

These tropical drinks were not necessarily created in Hawaii, but have become very closely associated with the islands and are found on any drink menu, many with a special twist to make it unique to each establishment. Many drinks are created exclusively with liquor that is made in Hawaii, making these a local drink that you’ll surely try during your trip.

Cocktails for your Hawaiian vacation:

Mai Tai
The Mai Tai was actually created in Hollywood CA, but is very closely tied to Hawaii. Made with both white and dark run, fruit juices, and grenadine, the Mai Tai is a nice drink to look at, and quite refreshing after a day on the beach.
Recipe for the perfect Mai Tai:
1 ½ oz white rum
2 oz orange juice
2 oz pineapple juice
1 tsp grenadine syrup
½ oz dark rum (float on top)

Blue Hawaii
We’ll give you one guess at where this drink originated. The story holds that it was   invented by a bartender at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in the 1950’s, and has grown in popularity over the years. It is a very simple drink to make, but is so refreshing, and if Hawaii had a taste, it would taste like the Blue Hawaiian.
Original Blue Hawaiian recipe:
1 ½ oz coconut rum
2 oz pineapple juice
1 oz Blue Curacao

Lava Flow
This is one of those drinks that when it is carried through a restaurant or presented at the bar top, patrons take notice. The Lava Flow is a twist on the classic Pina Colada and really cool to look at. The drink is maybe the best representation of Hawaii, with the red of the strawberry puree representing the lava flowing from the islands.
Recipe:
1 oz light rum
1 oz coconut rum
2 oz pineapple juice
2 oz Pina Colada mix
Combine in a blender
In glass, pour 1 1/2 oz strawberry puree.
Pour drink mix into glass slowly, spreading the strawberry puree throughout
