Think of all of the things that Hawaii is known for. The first thing that comes to mind is the beaches that are found around the islands, some more well known than others, and each as impressive as the last. Or the next. There is nothing quite like digging your toes into the soft white sand and staring out towards the horizon, the sparkling blue ocean providing a scene that will take your breath away.
Now that we’ve got your mind ready, we want to share with you one beach on each island that is a must for your trip. These aren’t necessarily the most popular beaches or the beaches that you’ll find on a screensaver, but these are those places that you’ve got to venture to find, and we’re certain that you’ll be happy you did.
Oahu – Waimanalo Beach
If you as us, this is the best beach in Hawaii. The sand is so soft and white. The surroundings are stunning. The water is beautiful, and though it can be rough at times, it is perfect for a dip or body surfing. The long stretch of sand is backed by Ironwood Trees, and you can see offshore Rabbit Island and the towering Ko’olau Mountains just by turning around.
Maui – Big Beach
You may have heard of this one, but it doesn't mean that you should discount it. Big Beach is awesome, and always a blast to visit. There is plenty of room to find a place to lounge and a stroll along the beach will fill quite a bit of time. The shore break can be very strong, but if the water is calm, a quick swim is perfect.
Kauai – Tunnels Beach
This might be the perfect beach in Hawaii, so if you’re visiting Kauai, get there as soon as you can. The picture perfect beach offers incredible conditions for snorkeling and swimming, and the surf breaks are a favorite among locals. If you’re wondering how it got its name, the underwater world offers the clues you need, with many lava tubes and tunnels to explore.
Big Island - Mauna Kea Beach
Fronted by the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, this beach on the Big Island is as close to perfect as you’ll find. The crescent shaped beach features soft sand and the natural reef provides protection from ocean swells, keeping the water calm and providing perfect conditions for swimming, snorkeling and stand up paddle.
The beaches of Hawaii are incredible, and any that you choose to visit will be a great experience. You’ll feel as though you’re in a picture, and wont be able to get enough of the natural beauty, warm water, and amazing day at the beach.
