Step back in time into the 1930s when you visit the restored plantation estate of Kilohana. This 16,000 square foot Tudor mansion was the home to one of the island’s most prominent families, the Gaylord Wilcox family.
With its manicured green lawns surrounding the estate, Kilohana is a picturesque venue for tours, gatherings, and a theatrical luau. The estate today features a number of small shops such as the Koloa Rum Company. Kilohana was once the hub of Kauai business, the hot spot for cultural and social life, along with being the center of a 27,000-acre sugar plantation. This 35-acre estate today features tropical gardens and an old plantation village. With the classic Kauai Plantation Railway that opened, visitors alike can easily take a tour of Kilohana’s working farm, and their festive Luau Kalamaku that is held regularly. Kilohana makes the perfect venue for weddings, receptions, and special events with their banquet facilities. In the past, Kilohana was the island’s most magnificent home and continues to be a beautiful place to visit.
