Waimea, also called Kamuela, is an inland community. Be sure to stop by the Kahua Ranch where you can get a taste of paniolo lifestyle. Kahua Ranch is a working cattle and sheep ranch. There is plenty to do and explore at the Kahua Ranch such as horseback riding or riding ATV’s.

Waimea is home to a thriving community. Dine in at Merriman’s Restaurant where you can find of Hawaii’s finest chefs, Peter Merriman who is a three-time finalist for the prestigious James Beard Awards for Best Chef. Peter Merriman is one of the founding members of Hawaii Regional Cuisine. Also located in Waimea is the 490-seat Kahilu Theatre, one of Hawaii’s cultural meccas for performances by renowned dancers, artists, and musicians.
